At the IBM Storage Strategy Days in Ehningen last week, storage experts discussed the latest trends in data storage, tape technology and backup infrastructures.
Björn Albers and Stefan Schröder were there on behalf of BACKUP EAGLE®. We would like to thank Josef "Sepp" Weingand from IBM for the excellent organisation of the event and for providing fascinating insights into the latest developments in tape storage and LTO-10.
Tape remains a key technology for energy-efficient and cost-effective storage of large volumes of data, particularly for backup and archiving strategies.
BACKUP EAGLE® demonstrated on site how the tape lifecycle can be monitored and how the operation of tape libraries can be made transparent and audit compliant.
In addition, BACKUP EAGLE® TAPE_CONTROL was introduced for the first time – a solution for automated tape lifecycle management, audit-compliant reporting and the control of bulk operations such as copying or moving tapes.
